By joining this platform, you agree to its terms and conditions, promoting positive behavior and mutual respect.

While using this platform:

  • Made Open owns Intellectual Property Rights for user-generated content and data.
  • Made Open owns Intellectual Property Rights for their technology, service and documentation.
  • You have a limited right to use the platform for personal, non-business purposes.

If you disagree with these terms, do not access or use the platform.

  13. Harm or attempt to harm minors or any user.
  14. Harass or interfere with others' use of the platform.
  15. Transmit spam or unauthorised advertising.
  16. Suggest false association, approval or endorsement.

You:

  1. Accept sole responsibility for content you upload.
  2. Indemnify us for any breach of third-party rights.
  3. Agree that we are not responsible for content you post.
  4. Agree that your uploaded content is non-confidential.
  5. Grant us a licence to use, modify and distribute your content.
  6. Warrant that you have the authority to grant us usage rights.
  7. Obtain and maintain licences for your uploaded content, including associated fees.

3. Content Standards

When uploading content to our platform, follow our "Content Standards":

Contributions must:

  1. Be accurate for factual statements.
  2. Reflect genuine opinions for subjective statements.
  3. Comply with UK and relevant international laws.

Contributions must not:

  1. Defame any person.
  2. Contain obscene, offensive, illegal, sexually explicit or inflammatory material.
  3. Promote violence or discrimination based on various factors.
  4. Infringe on others' copyright, database right or trademarks.
  5. Deceive or breach legal duties to third parties.
  6. Threaten, harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or invade privacy.
  7. Impersonate or misrepresent identity or affiliation.
  8. Falsely attribute contributions to us.

4. What will happen if you breach our terms and conditions

We can end your account by written notice if:

  1. You violate these terms persistently, not fixing it within 14 days.
  2. You breach our 'acceptable use' and 'content standards' policies.
  3. We terminate, transfer or assign any licence or agreement related to our service.

After termination:

  1. Your granted rights cease.
  2. We will stop all activities allowed by these terms, including platform use.
  3. Your account may be deleted from our live databases.
  4. We're not liable for termination.
  5. Donations made through the platform won't be refunded.

Failure to follow our policies can lead to:

  1. Immediate, temporary or permanent loss of site access.
  2. Removal of your posts or material.
  3. Issuing a warning or legal proceedings for cost reimbursement.
  4. Further legal action or disclosure to law enforcement.

This agreement continues while you use the platform. You can close your account anytime using platform instructions. We won't be liable to you or any third party.


5. Moderating interactive services

We offer interactive services like messaging and chatrooms on our platform. Content in these services isn't actively moderated (except by users), but we keep records on our live databases.

Here's the lowdown on our moderation:

  1. We're not obligated to oversee or moderate any interactive service.
  2. If issues are flagged, we decide whether to intervene or moderate.
  3. You can usually contact the moderator if you face concerns.
  4. Minors using our interactive services without our knowledge need parental / guardian consent.
  5. Moderation isn't foolproof, so parents should be cautious.
  6. We're not responsible for actions violating our Acceptable Use Policy or Content Standards.

6. Linking to our platform

You can link to our platform fairly and legally, as long as it doesn't harm our reputation. We can withdraw linking permission anytime without notice. Don't imply any association, approval or endorsement from us if it doesn't exist. Only link to our platform on websites you own and make sure they comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.


7. Things to be mindful of

The platform's content is for general information only, not advice to rely on. We don't review or endorse third-party content and their terms apply. We can transfer rights to another organisation, but your rights and our duties stay the same.


8. Limitations of liability

We are not liable for death, injury, fraud or other legal exceptions. If you're a business, we're not responsible for profit loss or indirect damages. We're not responsible for events beyond our control affecting our obligations.


9. Applicable laws

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of England and Wales. If any part is invalid, it will be adjusted or removed, and the rest of the terms remain valid.
